the road less tivo’d: a final intro to the most interesting man in the world(5)

i suspect that tivo would not decrease my television watching time but increase it. so alas, i still watch commercials but find fewer folks to discuss them with. i often get blank looks when i ask…have you seen…..?

i realized that if i posted commercials, my audience may actually be watching them for the first time…but then we can talk about them!

here’s the fifth video in my presentation of this clever campaign.

alcohol ads usually take one of two paths…clever funny is one. alcoholic behavior is the second with a possible third way being a hybrid. but most follow the play book of “hello, i am an alcoholic…and this is my life.”

these ads which have been running maybe trailblazing a new path….completely mad. i love these ads…..as opposed to the smirnoff ads that i have been mocking!

these are fun, snarky…and just plain mad!! i love madness.

the road less tivo’d: favorite commercial 2009

a biz markie soundtrack. a new york vibe. good friends singing off key in an atmosphere of familiarity. moody lighting. a very efc pm, cbc pm, club vision feel to it. it made me smile every time. when else does a commercial do that for me?

here’s another in the line of i was there….drunk out of my mind ads…

these ads are the opposite of the clever dr. pepper ads i’ve been posting and the snarky funny dos equis ads i am currently running an extensive feature on. so i’m not anti-get your drink on. i’m anti-dumb@$$.

this ad  doubles as an al qaeda motivational video. they will point to our western use of time, money, resources and say….look at how these decadent fools live!   this is how you live your lives????

the commercial ends with an adolescent declaration of being witness to “history”.  a lot more people just joined al qaeda and are set to make their own history.

you should have gone to your aa meeting.

dr. pepper commissioned these ads with famous fake doctors to promote their unique flavor that is enhanced by drinking them slow. here’s dr. dre of hip hop fame.

i love dr. pepper and i love these ads.
